Service Description

What is Reflexology? Reflexology is a complementary therapy involving the treatment of a wide range of conditions by applying gentle massage with the fingertips and thumbs to the feet or hands. All of our organs and aspects of our bodies manifest as reflexes (or points) in our feet and hands. By applying specific massage techniques to these reflexes, I am able to provide treatments for a wide range of presenting conditions. These include (but not limited to); relaxation, improving mood, reducing stress and anxiety, reducing tension, helping with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, aches and pains, also symptoms of menstruation, perimenopause and menopause. What's unique about the Reflexology I offer? As part of your initial consultation I gather details about your health, holistically. I then tailor each individual treatment to focus on your top presenting conditions where I can help you the most. Through multiple sessions, we monitor the effect of treatments on your conditions. What experience to I have? Since mid-April 2024 I have been volunteering as a Complementary Therapist at the St Columba's Hospice in Edinburgh. There I provide the wonderful staff with treatments, which have been greatly received and multiple staff members have booked in for repeat bookings with me. I am studying and practicing Clinical Reflexology since September 2023, when I began the Practitioner Diploma in Clinical Reflexology with the Complementary Therapy School (CTS). This course is credited by the University of the West of Scotland (UWS). It is the highest level and only qualification of it's kind in the UK. I have completed 4 case studies (of 10 hours of treatments each). I continue to perform multiple sessions every week on my journey to completing 100 treatments as part of my Practitioner Diploma in Clinical Reflexology. How do you book a Clinical Reflexology Treatment? I currently offer a mobile service, where I travel to your home and provide a Clinical Reflexology treatment. Shortly I will be providing treatments from a treatment room in the Lothians, watch this space for more details or sign up for my newsletter.
